About this camp
A well-reviewed social hostel about 100 m from Barra da Lagoa beach — the island's most forgiving learner wave — with four- and six-bed dorms, a stocked communal kitchen, a roof common space, free parking and regular social events. It has no in-house surf school: surfing, kayaking, diving and sandboarding are arranged through partners, and several surf schools teach right on the beach a two-minute walk away. That makes it a lodging-first base rather than a coaching camp — best for backpackers who want cheap beds, a social scene and daily surf on their own schedule. Honest caveats: cleanliness is its weakest review score, and peak dates (New Year, Carnival) require prepaid multi-night stays.
