Somo

A long sand beach across the bay from Santander, running into Loredo at its far end, and Spain’s first designated surf reserve. Gentle enough at the western end to be the north coast’s main teaching beach, with cleaner autumn shape towards the east and at Loredo. It is the obvious base for anyone who wants Cantabria rather than the busier Basque coast.
