Coxos is the wave that earned Ericeira its World Surfing Reserve status. A long, fast right that peels over a reef and finishes near rocks on the inside. On a clean E wind with a head-high W swell it's one of the best rights in Europe.

Not a beginner wave. If you're Levels 2-3, drive 2 km north to Ribeira d'Ilhas. Booties recommended at any size — the reef is sharp and the inside section breaks shallow.
