Praia do Campeche
The island's south-facing power beach, and on its day the heaviest beach break in Florianópolis. Campeche is exposed to the full southern-ocean fetch and splits into two quite different waves: Pico, a sandbar peak that throws long, clean right-handers, and Riozinho, a fast, hollow rivermouth section at the far end for experienced surfers. On a solid south groundswell with NW offshores the sections can link into a long right. Prime is the May–September winter window, when the S/SE groundswells arrive and the water is cool enough for a spring suit or 3/2.
