About this camp
A small, boutique alternative to the big Mentawai resorts: three handcrafted hillside bungalows — so the whole camp is tiny — a beachfront restaurant, and experienced guides who read the forecast and run boats to whichever of the surrounding breaks is on. This is reef surfing in a remote archipelago, and it suits confident intermediates upward; a beginner would be badly out of place despite the camp's laid-back framing. The honest downsides are that no rates are published, so everything is enquiry-based; the tiny bungalow count means it books out far ahead; and getting there is a flight to Padang plus a long boat.
