Tao is the opposite trade to the rest of Avellanas: one price, everything in it, and a coaching cap of three guests per coach. The published week is seven nights Saturday to Saturday at US$2,750 for a solo surfer, US$5,000 for two surfers sharing (US$2,750 for the first and US$2,250 for the second), or US$4,000 for a surfer travelling with a non-surfing partner. That covers five days of coaching at three to five hours a day, three days of surf photography and video, Liberia airport transfers both ways, breakfast and dinner daily from a chef-designed menu using organically grown produce, non-alcoholic drinks and local beer, and use of the resort's own short, fun and longboards. Rooms are king or queen with pool or garden views and en-suite walk-in showers. Mixed drinks and spirits are charged extra, and the cancellation window is short — 48 hours for a full refund, non-refundable after that. The resort describes itself as a surf school with lodging rather than a hotel that offers lessons, and at this ratio and price that is the accurate reading.
