About this camp
The plain-spoken end of Baja surf travel: a low-key camp in the desert above Los Cerritos, on Carretera Federal 19 at km 64 in El Pescadero. Accommodation comes in four grades — casitas, penthouses, a whole house (La Casa) and tent camping — and the surf side is instruction or board rental for Los Cerritos, the forgiving beach break a couple of kilometres south that carries most of the area's beginner traffic. Honest caveats: this is an old-school operation and its web presence shows it — reservations run through a Hotmail address, there is a Facebook page and no Instagram, and no rates are published on the site, so the roughly $15-a-night figure that circulates for camping is indicative and should be confirmed before you count on it. Room capacities are not published either. Nothing about the place is glossy, which is rather the point.
