About this camp
Run by Luciano, Carolina and their daughter, this is a rustic, shaded campground with chalé and wooden-house rentals set 100 m from the village centre and 200 m from the beach, inside the Serra do Tabuleiro protected area. It offers surf lessons and board hire arranged on the beach, with an easy walk (and river wade) to Guarda's famous rivermouth left. It suits budget, backpacker and family travellers, from beginners on the inside to intermediates chasing the point. Honest trade-offs: it is camping-led and self-catering (kitchen, hot showers) rather than a structured week-long coaching camp, it can get crowded during the Brazilian summer holidays, and the rivermouth itself closes to surfing May–Jul for the tainha mullet run.
