About this camp
Gaia Experiências is a Guarda-based ecotourism operator founded by a local tourism guide, offering surf lessons alongside SUP on the Rio da Madre, hikes, waterfalls and whale-watching. Surf sessions run about an hour with all equipment included, take students from age 5 and all levels, and the instructor picks the safest spot by the day's forecast and the student's ability. It suits absolute beginners, kids and families, and works well as an add-on for travellers already staying in the village. Honest trade-offs: it is lessons only — no accommodation and no multi-day coaching package — and it is a small local operation, booked by WhatsApp.
