About this camp
Founded in 1982 by pro surfer Rico de Souza, this is a well-known Rio institution teaching on the long, forgiving beach break of Barra da Tijuca (with a second base at Recreio/Macumba). A reputable, no-frills lesson for beginners through advanced with transparent pricing — a big established operation rather than a boutique foreign-traveller camp, and no accommodation.
