About this camp
Established in 1993 and, by its own account, the first surf camp in Portugal — which after thirty years is the reason to consider it ahead of the dozen newer operations within walking distance. Accommodation is hostel dorms and private apartments in Ferrel and Baleal, all within a few hundred metres of Cantinho da Baía. The published stay-and-surf week runs from €399 in mid-season and covers accommodation, a five-day course of two lessons a day Monday to Friday with qualified instructors, free use of board and wetsuit, and insurance. Room grades and meal arrangements are not itemised on the site. September to November is the season worth booking: the swell is back and August's crowds are not.
