The closest backpackers to the beach in Cape Town by its own description — thirty-five steps from the sand at the best learn-to-surf wave in the country. Accommodation spans shared dorms, private rooms and separate beach apartments, with a cafe, a yoga room, guest kitchen, bar and wifi on site, and its own surf school and board rental. The honest caveat is that no rate is published for a bed, a lesson or a package, and enquiries go through WhatsApp or email — so this is the one to ask about rather than price against the others here. Cape Town's swell season is the austral winter, roughly May to October.
